Birth doula services to support, educate and empower the birthing mother.

(I am currently on maternity leave and not accepting new Doula clients)

I am a toLabor-trained birth doula and embrace toLabor’s approach of empowering families, honoring birth, and changing lives. I have witnessed and experienced the transformative power of empowered childbirth, and it is my mission to support all birthing families in their own empowered birth.  As a birth doula I advocate for the birthing family, ensuring that the birthing mother and her birth companion know their options in order to make educated decisions.  I support birthing mothers and their birth companions physically and emotionally, always reminding the birthing family of their inherent power and wisdom to choose what is best for them and their baby.  I will never speak for a birthing mother or her birth companion, or tell them what to do. Instead, I will make sure she and her birth companion know which questions to ask in order to make informed decisions. Includes a free interview to determine if we’re a good fit, then a minimum of two additional prenatal visits to discuss birth preferences and labor positions with you and your birth companion. I will be on call for you 24 hours a day from 38-42 weeks. The day of birth I will meet you wherever and whenever you prefer, whether at your home, the hospital, or birthing center. I will support you and your birth partner physically and emotionally throughout labor and birth of your baby. I will stay 1-2 hours after birth to make sure you, your birth companion, and your new baby are settled in.  About 5 days after the birth I will schedule a visit to see your new little one, ensure you are healing physically and emotionally and to discuss your birth and your perceptions of how it went.

Doula Services + Yoga

Becoming a mother taught me how yoga and the breath can be used prenatally, in labor, and postpartum to support an empowered mother. Prenatal yoga sessions allow me to really get to know you as your birth doula, and support you in preparing your heart, mind, and body for birth and baby. Postpartum yoga sessions are a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with your body, finding healing and rebuilding strength and stability.  Feel free to bring your baby to postpartum yoga sessions, as I can include your child in your practice, at your request.
